neugierige.köpfe: Science meets Classroom is an IMBA science education program that brings cutting-edge research into primary school classrooms across Vienna. Through hands-on experiments and curiosity-driven discovery, children explore the fascinating biology of regeneration - with the axolotl as our research model. Our mission is to spark a lifelong passion for discovery in young children and enable an inclusive access to science.
About the Project
We are looking for a motivated Project Assistant who will support the project lead both organizationally and creatively and help us grow this initiative and expand the reach and educational topics. Your responsibilities will include:
- Project coordination & operational support: Managing schedules, logistics, workshop materials, documentation, and administrative processes; supporting workshop preparation and smooth project operations.
- Communication & stakeholder management: Handling written and verbal communication with schools, teachers, collaborators, internal teams, and external funding agencies in both German and English. Website and social media management: Maintaining and updating the project website and overseeing the project’s Instagram presence - including content creation, copywriting, and basic visual preparation (e.g., using tools like Canva or Adobe Creative Suite).
- Workshop support: Occasional assistance during classroom workshops alongside IMBA scientists - including taking pictures during visits and engaging with the students and teachers.
- Feedback & evaluation: Supporting project evaluation by sending feedback forms via email, documenting responses, and assisting with data analysis and reporting.
Your Profile
- A background in natural sciences (completed or ongoing studies) is considered a strong plus or an affinity for biology and science topics with fundamental experience in digital communication.
- Experience in project management or organizational roles.
- Experience with social media, especially Instagram; basic skills in content creation and a strong sense for visual story telling.
- Excellent communication skills and confidence in interacting with diverse stakeholders.
- Enthusiasm for science communication and education, especially for young learners.
- Very good command of written and spoken German (C1/C2 level required for school communication) and English.
- Structured, reliable, and proactive working style.
- Team-oriented mindset.
