Project Outline
- You will be working in our international, friendly Pharm Sci, PDT R&D team(include name) team / department
- You will be assigned to support a workstream of a major project dealing with increased API concentration in drug substance / drug product using different technologies.
- Using your theoretical knowledge of bioprocessing, protein purification, statistics and rheology, you will help to develop, analyze, investigate and also document and create reports on a drug substance production process.
- The planned output of the internship will be a technology evaluation to reach high concentrated protein solutions.
- The earliest start date for the internship will be (April, 2026) with an anticipated length of 6 months
What you bring to Takeda:
- Curiosity and collaboration skills will ensure you effectively support projects and make a valuable impact
- Active enrollment at a university or a university of applied sciences or a recent graduate (within the last 12 months) in life science, biotechnology, material science, engineering, (bio-)physics master’s program
- Using appropriate communication, you will provide updates and reports on your activities, essential for steering your work and integrating into the team
- Must be authorized to work in Austria without the need for additional immigration sponsorship, housing allowance or relocation requirements.
- Preferably skills in downstream processing, statistics and enthusiasm for process optimization

- TFF process development (membrane selection, flux/TMP optimization, fouling control, scale-up principles)
- Buffer exchange & diafiltration strategy (yield/recovery tracking, conductivity/pH targets, hold-time considerations)
- Precipitation & resolubilization screening (salt/pH windows, mixing order, filtration/clarification, resolubilization kinetics)
- Experimental planning with statistical methods (DoE) (screening/optimization designs, multivariate analysis, risk-based parameter selection)
- Data analysis, modelling & visualization (Excel/JMP/Minitab and/or Python; mass balance, yield and uncertainty calculations)
- Cross-functional collaboration (process sciences, analytics, QC/QA, manufacturing; technical reporting and presentations)
- Lab safety & good laboratory practices (risk assessments, safe chemical handling, waste streams, aseptic technique basics)

Motivated employees must be remunerated appropriately. The minimum salary for this important and responsible position is €2,010.75 gross per month (full time, collective wage agreement for the chemical industry). The actual remuneration package will be guided by your professional experience and your qualifications, so increased payment is possible.
