We are seeking an ambitious and highly proactive Founder’s Associate – Operations & Finance (full-time or part-time) to work directly alongside the CEO and support the company across investor relations, finance, operations, and strategic initiatives. Founder’s Associate - Operations & Finance (f/m/x)
Full-time or Part-time (min. 24 hours/week) | Vienna, Austria
WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Partner closely with the CEO on investor relations, fundraising activities, and stakeholder communication with investors, board members, EMBL, and strategic partners.
- Prepare high-quality investor updates, board materials, pitch decks, presentations, and partnership documents with exceptional attention to detail.
- Manage grant administration, including grant tracking, budget monitoring, and the preparation of interim and final reports for funding agencies such as FFG and AWS.
- Act as the key interface with our external finance and accounting partners, supporting financial administration, invoice processing, and monthly management reporting.
- Leverage and further develop AI-supported workflows while identifying opportunities to automate processes and improve operational efficiency across the organization.
- Conduct market research and competitive intelligence to support company positioning, fundraising activities, and strategic decision-making.
- Coordinate conference participation, partnering activities, stakeholder meetings, travel arrangements, and day-to-day business operations.
- Drive process optimization initiatives and help build scalable systems and workflows as the company continues to grow.
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Economics, Management, or a related field.
- Financial literacy, including the ability to understand budgets, profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and financial reports.
- Previous exposure to start-ups, venture capital, consulting, project management, or investor-facing environments is an advantage.
- Excellent communication skills in both German and English.
- Affinity for AI tools, digital workflows, and process automation, with the curiosity to continuously explore new technologies.
- Strong numeracy, conscientiousness, and attention to detail, in particular for financial documents and reconciliation.
- Discretion and reliability in handling confidential financial, investor, and company information.
- A flexible, entrepreneurial mindset, comfortable working in a fast-moving environment, collaborating across teams, balancing administrative and investor-facing tasks, and growing with the company.
- A hands-on ownership mindset: you take pride in getting the operational details right, and you consider no task too small when it keeps the company running.

The yearly salary for this position starts at EUR 45,000 gross based on full-time employment (40 hours per week). Depending on relevant experience and qualifications, there is a willingness to overpay.
