Octapharma specializes in the development of highly pure pharmaceuticals made of human blood plasma. As part of a family-owned enterprise, Octapharma in Vienna is not only the largest production site, but also a successful research location of the Octapharma Group. Since our company continues to grow, we are now hiring for our team: 


Your new challenges which will inspire you:

  • Lead and continuously develop a skilled team of laboratory technicians in charge of the analytical testing of    
    • (time critical) In-process and final container samples
    • method validation and transfer testing
    • media and process validation
    • proficiency studies
  • Coordinate the routine lab activities such as
    • Review and approval of test results
    • Review of laboratory records
    • Qualification of equipment
    • Administration, preparation and calibration of standards and controls
    • Training of the staff
    • Implementation, evaluation and improvement of the GMP requirements
    • Issue, update and review of SOPs and other GMP relevant documents
    • Support on issuance and review of OOS notifications and deviation notifications
    • Reporting and monitoring of quality control charts
    • Regular contact to production teams
  • Participate and support the management of changes


Your profile that will convince us: 

  • Medical science/life science background (university degree) focusing on Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biotechnology or Pharmacy, alternatively business education with strong background in pharmaceutical business
  • Knowledge of the pharmaceutical industry or of pharmaceutical service industry
  • Experience in GMP environment 
  • Experience at a management level in a QC unit of a drug manufacturing company is advantageous
  • Analytical, proactive personality with a high degree of accountability
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • Fluency in English and German
  • Willingness to take over on-call duties (approximately 4 days/month)

Additional Information:

The minimum gross salary according to the collective agreement (chemical industry) for your new job is EUR 3.728,86. We strive to adapt your salary to your range of tasks and to your profile, which is why we are ready to pay wages higher than collectively agreed.
