Job Description

The PDT BU R&D group is dedicated to bringing forward new therapeutic approaches based on plasma-derived therapies for patients with rare and complex diseases. Takeda believes there is tremendous potential to do more to meet patients’ and health care provider’s expectations with plasma-derived and plasma-oriented therapies for patients with immunologic, hematologic, and other complex diseases.

PDT Pharmaceutical Science & Devices is an agile and innovative team that develops novel and improved plasma derived drug products including intelligent medical devices & technologies. The expanding Analytical Development Department (AD-PDT) is responsible for establishing new innovative methods for product characterization, supporting process development, and for the release of non-clinical as well as clinical material. The methods are developed either internally at the Vienna site or externally with qualified Contract Research Organizations (CROs).

The Scientist is responsible for establishing new innovative methods and to independently manage development projects from analytical side. He ensures preclinical and clinical material release testing including coordination with internal functions such as Project Teams, Quality Control, and Subject Matter Experts.

Your Opportunities:

  • Maintenance of established methods and development of new alternative methods to maintain quality and high laboratory standards.
  • Implementation of new innovative methods and equipment
  • Automation of methods to increase efficiency
  • Responsibility of work packages for PharmSci development projects
  • Preparation of test specifications (Analytical Short Procedures KVAs) and SOPs for new methods
  • Technical support of laboratory staff
  • Preparation of study plans
  • Evaluation and approval of test results and support in the preparation of study reports
  • Organizational tasks to ensure and maintain laboratory operations are according to the currently valid "Responsibilities-Responsibilities_PharmSciPDT" list.

Your Skills and Qualifications:

  • Advanced degree (PhD or MD or equivalent)
  • A minimum of 5 years work experience in pharmaceutical sciences or academia
  • Strong scientific background in analytical method development and protein characterization
  • Knowledge of project management tools and methodologiesGood organization, communication, and time management skills
  • Several years of experience in the field of analytics with a solid background in natural sciences
  • Knowledge of laboratory related quality and safety guidelines
  • Analytical and critical thinking as well as problem solving skills
  • Good communication, organizational and time management skills
  • Independent, diligent and proactive work style
  • Competencies in the use of IT applications to solve scientific questions
  • Ability to work in a team, accurate, able to work under pressure, good English skills
  • Experience as a laboratory manager is an advantage

Motivated employees must be remunerated appropriately. The minimum salary for this important and responsible position is € xx gross per month (full time, collective wage agreement for the chemical industry). The actual remuneration package will be guided by your professional experience and your qualifications, so increased payment is possible
