POSITION OBJECTIVES

The Head, Process Lifecycle Informatics, will be a member of the Advanced Processing, Control, and Automation (APCA) team and will lead a cross-functional network of leaders, scientists, engineers and subject matter experts by collaboration with technical teams to deploy the PharmSci Process Informatics Strategy to ensure focused progression towards the digital goals and ambitions of PharmSci. Provide mentorship to ensure adoption of digital acumen and promote arising opportunities.

  • You will lead the team enabling excellence and acceleration in technology transformation and delivering forward-thinking, disruptive, meaningful solutions leveraging emerging and innovative technologies, principles and methods.

  • Overall program responsibility for Process Lifecycle Informatics technology in Pharmaceutical Sciences, R&D and global leadership in managing multiple areas of PharmSci innovation.

  • Expected to engage others by inspiring commitment through leadership and clarity of vision. Lead by influencing through relationships, fostering a culture of innovation and strategic improvement and lead the development of novel capabilities aligned with organizational needs. Champion change and be a role model for other management and staff not only in technical expertise but across Takeda competencies.

  • Coordinates functional Process Lifecycle Informatics strategy and collaborate closely with Head, Technology Excellence & Head, Innovation Development and Head, Innovation and Technology Sciences to maintain the Technology and Innovation Framework across Pharmaceutical Sciences

  • Manages Interface Processes and Strategies towards relevant stakeholders within Takeda (such as Information Technology, Global Manufacturing & Supply, Global Quality, Data Science Institute) and beyond (vendors, industry peers, regulatory authorities)

  • Steer critical, cross-functional and functional projects and ensures delivery according to strategy and plan.

  • Tailors, promotes, deploys and governs fit-for-purpose principles, methods and frameworks to globally enhance maturity in adopting forward thinking technologies.

  • Support the PS organizational digital transformation through  change management.

  • Supports the Head of Technology Excellence in strategic and other relevant affairs

POSITION ACCOUNTABILITIES

As part of the APCA team within Takeda R&D, the Head, Process Lifecycle Informatics will report to the Head of Technology Excellence and lead efforts to:  

  • Overall Responsibility for Process Lifecycle Informatics Programs in PharmSci, R&D

  • Lead and mentor a cross-functional internal Network of Senior Leaders, Scientists, Engineers and Subject Matter Experts

  • Collaboration with internal & external Stakeholders such as Global IT, Gobal Quality and Global Manufacturing, Industry Bodies, Academia, Regulatory Bodies, Vendors & Suppliers

  • Expected to engage others by inspiring commitment through leadership and clarity of vision

  • Ownership of functional strategy across Pharmaceutical Sciences in alignment with Enterprise Vision

  • Sponsoring, steering and governance of critical, large-scale cross-functional deployment and implementation Initiatives and ensures delivery according to  Digital Strategy and Ambition.

  • Exemplifies and is recognized for expertise in, and contributions to, Functional and Divisional team leadership and communication and participates in performance management

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, BEHAVIOURAL COMPETENCIES AND SKILLS:

Education and Experience (Required):

  • Technical Degree with at least 7-15 years of relevant program leadership and management experience

  • General R&D, IT, Quality and Technical  Operations experience

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Direct experience in envisioning, building, and deploying Digital Program Strategies and Solutions

  • Track record of successful leadership & management of medium to large, multi-disciplinary globally dispersed teams and influencing senior-level management & key stakeholders is required.

  • Proven track record of leading and driving the implementation of global digital solutions and organizational culture change as well as delivering on innovation programs with complex business or scientific deliverables.

  • Strong judge of talent with the ability to mentor and develop is a minimum requirement.

  • Health care business acumen with a comprehensive understanding of the pharmaceutical industry is a minimum requirement.

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS

  • As this is a global role, some domestic and international travel may be needed from time to time
