Join us in the capacity of Head of Launch Management & Clinical Supply (Plasma Operating Unit) in our office in Zurich, Switzerland or Vienna-Austria.

OVERVIEW

The purpose of this role is to build and maintain process of the launch of plasma products that ensures there is a robust and consistent approach to product launches within the Plasma OpU. The role also includes the responsibility for clinical supply within the Plasma OpU.

ACCOUNTABILITIES

Launch Process Design:

  • Work with relevant stakeholder to build a new/improved process for product launch within the Plasma OpU.
  • Execute and Maintain Launch Process

Launch Visibility and Reporting:

  • Maintain real-time visibility for all product launches including the status of the launch.
  • Develop, track and report KPI’s
  • Establish Process for Clinical Supply
  • Ensure Robust Process for Input of Clinical Demand
  • Facilitate Process for Proactive Management of Clinical Product Supply
  • Reporting on Clinical Supply

Leadership:

  • Design strategic workforce plans with clear direction on hiring strategy, employee engagement, individual development planning, effective decision making and alignment for organization design and talent management processes.
  • Interfaces with all areas of leadership to ensure aligned progress and path forward. Aligns and leverages experience across OpUs to develop better solutions for the Plasma OpU.
  • Ability to build a patient and customer-centered best in class organization, develop diverse talent and elevate organizational performance.
  • Builds, mentors and coaches an effective team. Must possess strong leadership, team building and management skills. Acts as a positive, resilient and collaborative leader with a ‘can do’ approach.

KEY SKILLS & COMPETENCIES REQUIRED

Technical/Functional (Line) Expertise:

  • Knowledge and experience of Bio-Pharmaceutical Manufacturing
  • Knowledge and experience of supply chain and supplier relationship management
  • Knowledge of LEAN and Continuous Improvement to drive Program AGILE
  • Knowledge of Takeda strategy / business performance and using that information to anticipate long range planning for products 

Leadership:

  • Ability to lead a global supply chain organization (including supply chain planning, launch excellence, lifecycle management, distribution and logistics in a complex and highly regulated environment including tender business, different tax models etc.)
  • Ability to build a patient and customer-centered best in class organization, develop diverse talent and elevate organizational performance.
  • Ability to operate cross functionally, working with sites and GMS functions. Key leader in managing the relationship with PDTBU.

Decision-making and Autonomy:

  • DOA limits to be defined in line with new TMAP
  • Key decisions impact availability of product supply to patients and inventory management (impacting cash flow) and a distribution of value.

Interaction:

  • Day to day engagement with: Plasma OpU Leadership Team, Internal Manufacturing sites, Procurement; Manufacturing Sciences, Commercial and Strategy & Business Excellence and PDTBU.

Innovation:

  • Unique contribution of thought, experience, background, and skills in the areas of supply chain excellence, leveraging technology to drive process excellence and improve supply chain responsiveness

Complexity:

  • Management of the supply of all Plasma products in the Takeda portfolio which generates >$7B of revenue annually.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

Essential:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Science or related field along with 15 or more years Supply Chain, manufacturing and planning experience in the Biopharmaceutical, Pharmaceutical or related industry.  
  • Plasma Manufacturing Leadership and management experience.
  • Experience with Multi-product manufacturing plants.
  • General Technical Operations/Global Manufacturing and Supply (GMS) experience including clinical development, commercialization supply operations, regulatory and compliance experience, hands on technical transfer experience, direct plant management and exposure across all Technical Operations/GMS functions.
  • Significant experience leading the planning processes for a global organization and doing so at a global and international level.
  • Strong technical operations background and a hands-on business understanding of the Supply Chain function.  
  • Previous leadership experience with matrix cross-functional experience.
  • Demonstrated experience leading high priority, business critical initiatives within a matrix organization.
  • Significant experience in managing cross-functional, global teams.
  • Strong networking and interpersonal skills. Ability to build positive working relationships across senior leadership teams.
  • Ability to effectively communicate and influence at all levels of the organization.
  • Strong business acumen.

Preferred:

  • Master’s degree in related Technical Discipline or MBA.
