Ribbon Biolabs is a young biotech company with locations in Vienna and in Klosterneuburg (outskirts of Vienna) developing the next technological wave of error-proof DNA synthesis. With our approach, we are developing a cost-efficient platform to produce long and complex DNA molecules, thereby enabling a new generation of biopharmaceutical processes and other synthetic biology products.
Currently we are seeking to expand our team with a creative and motivated Scientist – Nucleic Acid Chemistry (f/m/d) to support our R&D team with strong skills and expertise in nucleic acid chemistry.
Spearhead R&D activities in the Nucleic Acid Chemistry area
Develop assays and systems for nucleic acid analysis/purification (CE, HPLC, etc.), and quality control
Support tech transfer from R&D stage prototypes to production level technology
Produce, document, and analyze data including writing relevant reports and assistance in grant writing
Closely interact and collaborate with colleagues from the fields of computational biology, automation, and microfluidics in cross functional teams
PhD/ Postdoc level scientist with background or strong expertise in nucleic acid chemistry
Deep understanding of nucleic acid modifications and associated analytic and preparative procedures
Good communication skills with diverse, interdisciplinary audiences (fluent in English - written and spoken)
Prior experience with industry settings (standardization and quality management, SOP establishment) preferred
Knowledge of cloning and gene assembly would be a plus

By Austrian law we are obliged to specify the minimum salary level by collective agreement, which is Euro 47.500, - to EUR 52.000, - gross per month. However, we offer a higher salary adjusted to your experience and qualifications
Job type: Full time (40 h per week).
Location: This role is for laboratory operations in Klosterneuburg and Vienna.
