Takeda’s Gene Therapy New Technologies and Innovation team is seeking for talented and highly motivated candidates for pursuing a MSc thesis, in which the student will evaluate gene editing tools such as CRISPR/Cas9 for potential gene knock-out targets in selected mammalian cell lines and boost virus-like particle titers.
Gene editing is a powerful set of tools that have revolutionized the field of biology. These tools are providing unprecedented efficacy and precision to knock-out or knock-in genes in vivo mammalian cells. Hence, the use of this technology can be used to improve cell line properties to maximize productivities.
Based on already generated transcriptomics data at Takeda, the candidate will knock-out selected genes and evaluate their impact on virus-like particle productivity and some aspects of product quality.
The master thesis includes the cultivation of mammalian cells, the use of gene editing techniques for knocking-out specific genes, statistical evaluation of results and summary of performed.
Within the scope of this master thesis occasional training or project-related activities will be carried-out with a cooperation partner in Bratislava (Slovakia)
