A full-time Post-Doc position is available starting in autumn 2018 in our biocatalysis group at the University of Graz. The interdisciplinary research project is performed in collaboration with an industrial partner and is devoted to the development of biocatalytic activation reactions and the development of bio-synthetic cascade-reactions.
Your tasks in the project
(Preparative) biotransformations; cloning, overexpression and engineering of enzymes; assay development; identification of products; organic synthesis; development of analytical methods.
Candidates having a PhD in chemistry or biochemistry, with a strong background in bio-organic chemistry, who are eager to extend their expertise towards applied enzymology and biotechnology are encouraged to apply for this position The applicant is expected to be able to organize him/herself, plan experiments and work independently but also to feel comfortable as part of a team. Furthermore, strong skills in written and spoken English are expected.
